Temperature Switch
These temperature switches, manufactured by Pyropress
Ltd., employ a sealed metal bellows element which is filled
under vacuum. A non-toxic fill with a rapid thermodynamic
response characteristic, provides an efficient and consistent
volumetric change.
The resulting expansion and contraction of the bellows
allows a directly connected push rod to operate a snap
acting microswitch. The desired temperature at which this
takes place is selected by the set point.
Screwed and flanged thermowells, either fabricated or solid
drilled can be supplied when required (see data sheets 054,
055, 057 and 058).

S P E C I F I C A T I O N
Stem material

316 stainless steel.

Stem dimensions

11.3mm OD with a minimum length of 70mm
and longer stem lengths in steps of 25mm, up
to a maximum of 1195mm.

Process connection

3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4” or 1” in BSP or NPT thread
forms.

Case

cast 316 stainless steel or black anodised
cast aluminium. Cable entry screwed M20.
Environmental rating IP66.

Switch

single pole change over/single pole double
throw, snap action microswitch. Contact
rating 5A at 250V AC resistive and inductive,
5A at 30V DC resistive, 3A at 30 V DC
inductive. A second microswitch can be fitted
and set to operate within ±5% of the main
switch set point. All switches have gold
flashed contacts as standard and therefore
are suitable for use with IS circuits when

used with an appropriate safety barrier.
