VTdrive - What can you do to prepare your industry for tough new climate change targets0 pages
Earlier this month, the EU announced that Europe must cut its greenhouse gas emissions
by 40% by 2030, compared with 1990 levels. This is the toughest climate change target of
any region in the world, and it has also pledged to produce 27% of its energy from
renewable sources by the same date.
The only way this is going to be achieved is by passing on this target to businesses and
energy companies. From the 1 February 2014, the final phase of the Government’s CRC
Energy Efficiency Scheme will come into force and “qualifying organisations must comply
legally with the scheme or face financial and other penalties.”
This is the latest of many challenges facing global industry in the current economic
climate.
What does this mean for your industry?
This means you are going to have to assess your energy consumption and try and make
cuts. However, it is often difficult to take a step back from the day to day production
processes and when things are running smoothly and production targets are being met,
where do you begin to look for an energy saving solution?
Sentridge, alongside VTdrive are happy to offer a FREE Energy Audit. Our SEAChange
programme involves 6 stages and time and time again it has identified energy saving
potential and an investment payback of on average two years.
