Legi-Air 4020
Economical Printer-Applicator
Weber’s exclusive Model 4020 is an ideal unit for moderate
labeling demands or for initial entry into on-line print-and-apply
labeling.
This truly economical system addresses numerous applications,
and includes functions formerly limited to higher-cost, higherduty systems.
The Model 4020 – engineered, assembled and available only from
Weber – integrates the latest direct-thermal/thermaltransfer
print engine technology.
The unit prints 105mm wide 203-dpi text, bar codes and graphic
images at speeds up to 6 ips, and will dispense labels up to 112
mm wide and 160 mm in length.
Each label is printed on demand to assure cost efficiency, and
then it is applied nearly instantly to a product (e.g. a carton on
a conveyor line).
Utilizing the well approved tamp-blow method, the printed
pressure-sensitive label is peeled from its liner, fed on the
applicator’s tamp pad and there it’s retained by vacuum. The pad
will extend (180 mm standard stroke), reset under the vacuum,
and blow the label onto the product without touching its surface.
Status 02/2009. Subject to change without notice.
Standard features include a label-on-pad sensor, pressure input
monitoring easy status diagnostics by LED, inputs/outputs to accommodate a product sensor or other optional accessories, plus
a stepper-driven rewinder.
Options include for instance an adjustable stand that enables
the system to be oriented for all direction application. Extended
stroke length or rotating cylinders are available, too.
Weber also manufactures a wide variety of stock and custom
pressure-sensitive labels, and provides application-specific
printer ribbons for thermal-transfer operation.
