nnnnShort Description
nnnnAKM 10-95 activated carbon ad-
nnnnsorbers purify pre-dried, industrial
nnnncompressed air reliably and efficiently
nnnndown to a remaining oil content of
nnnn0,003 mg/m3. The units are construc-
nnnnted in a compact manner and designed
nnnnto be free-standing with built-on after
nnnnfilters. They are equipped with built-on
nnnnpre- and after filtration and are sized
nnnnfor volumetric flows of up to 940 m3/h
nnnn(suction capacity of the compressor
nnnnreferring to a compression of 7 barj.
nnnnPre-dried compressed air flows from
nnnntop to bottom through a single vessel
nnnncontaining high-quality activated car-
nnnnbon: Any remaining oil-aerosols and
nnnnoil-vapours, including odours and tas-
nnnntes, are removed by the active surface
nnnnarea of the highly-porous activated
nnnncarbon to produce high-quality, clean
nnnncompressed air.
nnnnFinally, the treated compressed air
nnnnexits via the validated GL after-filter
nnnnInto the downstream compressed air
nnnnnetwork.
nnnnUsing an oil-indicator tube supplied as
nnnnstandard, quality checks can be car-
nnnnried out periodically. The lifetime of the
nnnnactivated carbon filling can vary and is
nnnndependent on the contamination type
nnnnand quantity and the relative humidity
nnnnof the compressed air. Customary
nnnnlifetimes for industrial applications ran-
nnnnge from 8 to 10.000 operating hours,
nnnnwhich can be verified using a colour-
nnnnchange indicator to simplify planning
nnnnrequirements.

Nominal pipe size is accordance with

nnnnVolumetric flow rate in m3/h, relating
nnnnto 1 bara and 20 °C. Subsequently
nnnncompressed to 7 bare, at 35 °C inlet
nnnntemperature to the adsorber. Relative
nnnnhumidity < 20 %.
nnnnWhere minimum operating pressure
nnnnand inlet temperature deviate, the
nnnnactual flow rate should be multiplied
nnnnby the correction factor f to arrive at
nnnnthe required nominal flow and thus
nnnnthe correct size of dryer.
