BTPX 205
The key to success in bridging the gap from the laboratory
to commercial production is a pilot plant that delivers results
that will be relevant when you move into full-scale production.
Scaling up involves compromises that often cannot be predicted
in the laboratory.
BTPX 205 is a fully automatic, plug-in, separation system. It
delivers the performance of production machines on a pilot
scale, and is designed specifi cally for cell harvesting, broth
clarifi cation and cell debris separation.
Hygienic design
The design of the BTPX 205 is exceptionally hygienic. It is steam
sterilizable and has cleaning-in-place capability. A specially
designed seal system provides effi cient containment and
eliminates the risk of product or environmental contamination.
Cooling jackets surrounding the centrifuge bowl give effi cient
temperature control and also contribute to a low noise level.
The “dosing ring” solids-ejecting system with fast and distinct
discharge action ensures low product losses and drier solids.
Flushing nozzles spray the outside of the centrifuge bowl and
the inside of the frame hood for maximum hygiene.
Complete system
The BTPX 205 separation system consists of a solids-ejecting
centrifuge, type BTPX 205SGD-34CDP with timer-triggered
discharge and fi xed discharge volume. The centrifuge is
mounted on a fi xed base frame, which includes process
pipings for service liquids and process liquids entering and
leaving the centrifuge. Typically, the solids phase is removed
by a steam sterilizable pump. The built-in electrical system
includes starter, PLC control system and pneumatic unit.
Materials
All liquid-wetted parts are made in high-grade stainless steel.
Gaskets are made of Nitrile, Viton or EPDM elastomer as
required.
Available models
The BTPX 205 centrifuge is available as concentrator, purifi er
or clarifi er in either standard or explosion-protected execution.
The small size but high performance of the BTPX 205 separation system makes it ideal for pilot plants
and small scale production.
