Model 1051 Autosampler
Vial Autosampler for the Model 1010 or
Model 1020A Total Organic Carbon
Analyzer
• Docks directly with the Model 1010 or Model 1020A
TOC Analyzer chassis to minimize benchspace
requirements.
• Programmable rinses for maximum accuracy and
precision.
• Transfers water or particulated water samples with no
system clogging.
• Spiral-design carousel optimizes sampling accuracy.
• Removable, lightweight sample carousel makes
sample loading and unloading easy.
• Automates 12, 53, or 88 samples.
• Preacidification option allows preacidification and
pre-sparging of samples to reduce analysis time.
• Variable-speed magnetic stirring capability as a
standard feature.
• Autosampler architecture emphasizes safety by
eliminating a moving X-Y-Z needle arm.
The OI Analytical Model 1051 Autosampler, with the
Model 1010 or Model 1020A TOC Analyzer, fully
automates the analysis of 12, 53, or 88 clean or particulated
water samples. The Model 1051 Autosampler includes a
sample-stirring feature that automatically stirs the samples
to ensure homogenization of insoluble or particulated
matrices. The Model 1051 includes all necessary hardware
and electronics to interface to the TOC Analyzer and is
easily configured through the TOC Analyzer.
Principle of Operation: The Model 1051 is a liquidsample transfer autosampler that removes the sample
from a vial and transfers the sample to the reaction vessel
on the TOC Analyzer. Sequentially, samples are moved
into position under the motorized needle assembly. The
needle is lowered, and the sample is transferred to a
calibrated sample loop inside the TOC Analyzer. Once the
sample is transferred to the reaction vessel, the TOC
Analyzer begins analysis. When the analysis of the sample
is complete, the sample automatically drains, and the
Model 1051 can perform a programmable number of
rinses of the needle, sample pathway, and the reaction
vessel. An external source of water is used to rinse the
sample lines in the system. Sampling via open vials or
septum piercing is possible.
