IRON METALS SORTING by MAGNETIC DRUMS (R-TMP & R-TME)
INTRODUCTION
Within the metals, iron metals should be considered the highest percentage elements and are the
most easily captured by magnetic fields. Aware of this serious environmental problem,
REGULATOR-CETRISA has developed a complete line of Sorting Equipments: Permanent Magnetic
Drum (R-TMP) and Electromagnetic Drum (R-TME) are among them, in order to separate, recycle
and recover iron metals.
PHYSICAL PRINCIPLE and CHARACTERISTICS
Permanent Magnetic Drum (R-TMP) makes a constant and permanent magnetic field because is
made of highly powerful magnets. Gear box is the only energy consumption. The Electromagnetic
Drum (R-TME) needs energy to generate a magnetic field, through a coil. This way, magnetic field is
able to switch on/off. Moreover Electromagnetic Drum (R-TME) is able to be bigger than Magnetic
Drum (R-TMP).
It is used to be located at the material outgoing of a conveyor or a vibrating feeder. External surface
is stainless steel made of. Magnetic nucleus, highly power either being electromagnetic or
permanent, attracts an iron metal. After being caught on its surface, transversal layers carries this
metal away towards powerless sections. Finally, when iron piece is out of magnetic influence, it is
separated from the other materials.
Magnetic body and axis are joined. So it is able to be oriented. It is covered by a stainless steel AISI
304 cylinder with transversal layers. These layers drag iron material off. Cylinder rotates by a gearbox.
