High Pressure Shut-Off and Control Valves
71 KS/RS
SchuF supplies high pressure angle valves in two basic versions:
The type 71KS is basically an on/off piston shut off valve, manually or bevel gear operated. A disc
valve with back seating can be offered as an alternative to a piston valve.
It comes with pressure ratings from PN 160 to PN 400 or ANSI 1500# to 2500# and special very
high pressure versions are available for higher pressure and elevated temperatures. All standard
flange facings are available as well as weld ends, Grayloc connections and threaded flanges with
lens-joint gaskets. All materials are readily available, standard versions include a C. St. version
(DIN 1.0305/ 1.1151) and a st.st. version (1.4571/81) both with 1.7258 (AIS 4140H) thermal expansion bolts. For high temperatures of over 200°C a CrMoV steel 1.7779 is preferred.
The type 71RS is similar to the 71KS but with a linear or equal % (more common) piston tip and a
pneumatic or electromechanical actuator and a positioner. This valve, utilising the same flanges
and materials as the 71KS but seat and control surface are hardened for long term controlling the
high speeds, abrasive media and choked and flashing flow associated with high pressure drop.
Available with unbalanced or balanced trim (especially for large sizes) and a wide choice of materials and accessories.
We can also supply high pressure check valves (in-line or angle), Y globe, changeover, three way
and safety valves as well as in-line needle valves. Multistage pneumatic piston actuators are available with forces of up to 1MN and travel speed of 5 seconds or less.
Application examples
High pressure Angle Valves for Urea
High pressures (200bar working pressure at 200°C) are extensively
used in Urea plants. SchuF delivers angle valves for this service
with manual or pneumatic actuator, with on/off and control trim,
as reactor or angle valves. Supplied to National Fertilizers, India
and and Uhde, Hagen.
