operations.

Product recalls are very expensive for manufacturers - therefore it is self-explanatory that
they ask for a traceability without
gaps. SIPLACE gave bebro the
chance to test improved Traceability functionalities for reading
barcodes on individual PCBs
in their plant. “Customers are
sometimes sceptical when we
propose a eld test. They fear
that the test and the presence
of the SIPLACE team might
interfere with or slow down their
regular production operations,”
says Bernd Pfeiffer, who heads
eld testing in SIPLACE’s supply
chain management department.
At bebro the SIPLACE team
went on to prove that eld tests
can be performed quickly and
without hold-ups.

The most important factors for a
successful test during a running
production are perfectly coordinated schedule and close cooperation between the SIPLACE
factory and the eld test central control. But communication
with the customer is important
as well. As the SIPLACE Team
is well familiar with customers‘
processes in production, the
installation of the new software
only took a few hours.
“Particularly for our high-mix
locations, where we specialize
in producing prototypes for our
customers, this eld test produced some very valuable
solutions,“ summarizes Hagenmaier, head of production with
bebro.
