modules are designed to enable simple

and scalable and low-cost I/O extension

for Trio's Motion Coordinators. In addition

to 24V input, output and bi-directional

modules, there are relay and analogue I/O

nnnn

modules.

CANbus is used for communication and control

nnnn

between the Motion Coordinator and the CAN 10 m

nnnn

odules. CANbus is a tried and tested, well known data

nnnn

link in industry which is reliable, noise immune and

nnnn

flexible. All CAN 10 modules are compatible with any

nnnn

Motion Coordinator that has a CANbus port.

nnnn

The Motion Coordinator I/O expansion system uses

nnnn

CANbus to reduce wiring and allow input/output

nnnn

modules to be distributed remotely. Up to 16 Digital

nnnn

I/O and up to 4 Analogue I/O modules may be added

nnnn

to the system. No bus connectors are required thus

nnnn

reducing the initial cost of adding I/O.

nnnn

The MC464 has additional capability in that it can

nnnn

handle up to 16 Digital Input modules and 16 Digital

nnnn

Output modules, a total of 32 Digital modules and 4

nnnn

Analogue modules. The CAN 16 I/O module counts

nnnn

as one Input AND one Output module.

nnnn

As well as being able to connect to any Motion

nnnn

Coordinator using Trio's own high speed CANbus

nnnn

protocol, each CAN module can run the DS401

nnnn

CANopen protocol. Protocol selection is by DIP

nnnn

switches on the front of the module.

nnnn
