SpaceClaim Engineer brings 3D solid modeling to the desktops of CNC machinists,
programmers, process engineers and quality engineers who could benefit from working
with solid models but don’t want to become experts in traditional feature-based,
constraint-driven CAD systems.
SpaceClaim allows machine shop technicians to interact with CAD geometry in exciting t
new ways. Without becoming a CAD expert, you can receive customer CAD data, interrogate
and measure features, edit the geometry and load it into the CAM system of your choice.

Recreating part geometry adds to your costs and leadtimes, and often leads to quality
problems due to errors. SpaceClaim allows you to use the 2D or 3D geometry supplied
by your customer. Simplify or modify geometry for programming by adding, deleting or
modifying the solid model rather than wrestling to create geometry in your CAM system.

Above shows the part prepared for the first machining operation. Stock has been
added on the bottom of the part for clamping, as well as the stock envelope. The vice
models were downloaded from the manufacturer’s website. The entire assembly will
be loaded in the CAM system. A detailed setup sheet can be quickly and easily created.
