nnnnMINERALS
nnnnWarman® froth pumps are heavy duty horizontal pumps designed to
nnnnhandle difficult tenacious froth
nnnnFroth
nnnnThe problem of handling froth in some process circuits
nnnncan be very frustrating. Froth often will air bind a
nnnnpump. The Warman® froth inducer blade impeller is
nnnndesigned to solve this problem, through less surging
nnnnand higher efficiencies from smaller pumps.
nnnnViscous slurries
nnnnAn additional benefit of this froth impeller design and
nnnnoversized inlet is that it raises the solids concentration
nnnnlimits that a centrifugal pump can handle. As the main
nnnnproblem of handling froth is similar to that of handling
nnnnviscous slurries - namely, getting the slurry into the
nnnnpump so it can be pumped - this pump has proven to
nnnnbe a high performer in dense media viscous slurries.
nnnnAdditionally, flow surging problems common to other
nnnncentrifugal pump designs at low flows are eliminated
nnnnfor viscous slurries.
nnnnApplication
nnnnThe mining industry is a primary example where
nnnnpumping operations can be plagued by froth and high
nnnnviscosity problems. In the liberation of minerals from
nnnnore, the minerals are often floated through the use
nnnnof strong flotation agents. Tough bubbles carry the
nnnncopper, molybdenum or iron tails to be recovered and
nnnnfurther processed. These tough bubbles create havoc
nnnnwith many slurry pumps, often leading to the selection
nnnnof overly large and inefficient pumps. Warman® froth
nnnnpumps are small and efficient. The inducer impeller
nnnnand oversized inlet very effectively enable the froth or
nnnnviscous slurries to get into the impeller allowing the
nnnnpump to transport it to the next destination.
nnnnLow power costs, reliable operation, minimal
nnnnsurging, and feed tank overflow make
nnnnWarman® froth pumps user friendly.
