General Improvements
Interface Enhancements
A number of interface enhancements have been made in FeatureCAM 2012.
Firstly, users have been provided a way to customise FeatureCAM hot keys. All FeatureCAM hot
keys can be re-assigned, and those assignments can be saved in a file so that users can copy
them to another computer.
In addition to this, FeatureCAM users can now select multiple items in the Part View, to perform
group functions such as copy or delete. A number of new icons have also been added for the
new Isometric Views.
Tool Cutting Data
In FeatureCAM 2012, tool cutting data can now be associated to tools within the tool
database. These settings can be set either as a material based setting in the Feeds and
Speeds database, or in the overrides tab of the tool properties. The following can now be set:

2.5D Features and Improvements
Total Stock for Finishing
The Total Stock attribute is now available for Finishing operations, avoiding the need to turn
Roughing on and off again. The Total Stock attribute for Finishing also works on the Stock
Boundary.
Functionality previously only available for Roughing operations.
Back Boring
The ability to create a back boring cycle (e.g. a Fanuc G87) has been added to FeatureCAM 2012.
This means that users can create a boring operation that will back or reverse bore a hole. Parts
can be fully machined without the need to turn the part over.
Exact Z-Step Setting
In FeatureCAM 2012 the Exact Z-step depth of cut can now be set. Users can choose between:•t
