Solid Validation Turbidity Standard

The ProCheck Solid Validation Standards are used as a quick and convenient "check" to determine if a Primary Calibration is needed prior

nnnn

to the next regularly scheduled primary calibration. Designed for use with HF scientific turbidimeters, they can be used as often as needed

nnnn

and will last for many years. Although actual values will be determined with testing, the typical value for the low range ProCheck-S will be

nnnn

less than 1 NTU for drinking water and other applications requiring a very low NTU range and the mid range ProCheck-S will typically be

nnnn

around 7 NTU for higher range applications.

How do they work?

nnnn

Perform a full primary instrument turbidity calibration using the

nnnn

normal procedures for your instrument.

nnnn

Insert the ProCheck-S standard into the instrument with the red

nnnn

index mark facing forward.

nnnn

Take a reading, record the obtained value and log the result.

nnnn

Calculate the +/-10% Min/Max Pass Range and log the results.

nnnn

Min value is the obtained value minus 10%, the Max value is the

nnnn

obtained value plus 10%

nnnn

To perform a validation check between scheduled

nnnn

primary instrument calibrations:

nnnn

Insert the ProCheck-S turbidity standard with the red index mark

nnnn

facing forward.

nnnn

Take a reading, note the obtained value and compare it with the

nnnn

+/-10% Min/Max Pass Range obtained earlier.

nnnn

If the value falls within the +/-10% Min/Max Pass

nnnn

instrument has passed.

nnnn

If the value falls outside the +/-10% Min/Max Pas

nnnn

primary calibration of the instrument is needed.
