Due to the self-sealing edge area an additional seal on these expansion joints is not necessary. ReaFlex expansion joints are available with a nominal width equal or larger than 400 mm diameter for circular expansion joints and 400x400 mm for angular expansion joints. ReaTex Fabric Expansion Joints ReaTex expansion joints are manufactured of PTFE coated fabric fibers. They were designed for the application in flue gas desulphurization plants (FGD) and flue gas treatment plants with elevated thermal and chemical exposure. ReaTex expansion joints have been proven successful in media temperatures up to above 2600C (500F). Up to 2600C (500) full outside insulation can be installed; no pre-insulation is necessary. For higher temperatures pre insulation is necessary and an outside insulation is not permitͭted (please see table 2). | |||||||||||||||||||||

ReaFlex Elastomer Expansion Joints ReaFlex expansion joints are manufactured of elastomer bands reinforced with wire mesh, wire weave or fabric fiber glass. They are available in U-shape or sleeve type for circular or angular ducts. For angular ducts, expansion joints can be manufactured with or without wave in the edge area. The design with a preformed wave shows increased axial movement compensation. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Due to the demanding requirements we manufacture bands of fabric fiber sheet coated with a 0.4 mm layer of sintered PTFE foil. A special manufacturing process allows a continuous temperature resistance of 2600C (500F) without the PTFE foil peeling off. All seams are gastight sealed with sintered PTFE foil. Our manufacturing process avoids seams in edge areas. ReaTex expansion joints are also available in endless design. They can be gastight vulcanͭized on site. Due to present acidic condensation in FGD plants ReaTex expansion joints are equipped with edge reinforcements of FKM elastomer for temperatures up to 2050C (401F) or of PTFE tape for temperatures up to 2600C (500F) (please see table 2). Depending on the requirements ReaTex expansion joints can be manufactured with a PTFE outlet nozzle. ReaFlex expansion joints are also available in endless design. They can be vulcanized on site. The following materials of construction have been proven successful for FGD plants: FKM (Fluorocaoutchouc Terpolymer), EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Caoutchouc) and CIIR (Butyl Caoutchouc). We supply ReaFlex expansion joints with wall thicknesses of 3.5mm up to 6mm with reinforcements of stainless steel (e.g. 1.4539) or fabric fiber glass. Table 1 shows maximum allowable material temperatures. An outlet nozzle can be installed for applications where condensation occurs. | |||||||||||||||||||||
