nnnnSince the early 90's, ALXION is well known to be an uncontested specialist of Direct Drive motors with its
nnnnFC motors range. This built-in range of motors "ready to use" is the ideal solution for printing machines,
nnnnbending machines, or machine tools, which require an excellent regularity of rotation especially at very low
nnnnspeed and a very high accuracy with a hollow shaft available up to 70 mm.
nnnnWith the STK range, ALXION addresses direct drive applications that could not be satisfied with the FC
nnnnrange:
nnnn• The applications needing a full integration of the motor in the servomechanisms due to volume and
nnnnweight criteria ;
nnnn- The applications needing a high diameter crossing hollow shaft demanding a ring type technology.
nnnnMAIN CHARACTERISTICS:
nnnn•Continuous torque from 14.6 Nm up to 2708 Nm in natural convection and up to
nnnn6100Nm in fluid cooling depending on the size.
nnnn• Six external diameters from 145 mm up to 800 mm.
nnnn■ Internal diameter from 56 mm up to 630 mm.
nnnn-Various available windings from 30 rpm up to 1500 rpm depending on the size.
nnnnThe range of permanent magnets brushless motors ALXION STK has been
nnnnspecially designed for the direct drive of axis without gears needing very
nnnnlow volume and weight regarding the torques and powers to be
nnnndeveloped.
nnnnTherefore, both electromagnetic and thermal optimisation have^
nnnnallowed to reach continuous torque-to-weight up to 15 Nm / Kg
nnnnin natural convection and up to 30 Nm / Kg in fluid cooling
nnnnHowever, the range of frameless motors ALXION STK
nnnnaddresses very demanding industrial applications in
nnnnterms of performances (dynamics, compacity,
nnnnaccuracy in regularity at low speed), in reliability
nnnnbut also in terms of costs.
nnnnA particular attention has therefore been
nnnndedicated in the design so that a mixed
nnnntechnical and economical
nnnnoptimisation could be achieved.
nnnnOn another hand, the industrial
nnnnusers can be sometimes
nnnnunsatisfied by direct drive
nnnnmotors because they are
nnnngenerally torque motors getting
nnnntherefore a reduced power and
nnnnspeed. ALXION got the ambition to
nnnnanswer that objection with the STK range by
nnnncreating motors that could satisfy the low speed
nnnnapplications with their related speed regularity and
nnnnalso to address the direct drive applications up to 30
nnnnKW in natural convection and 100 KW in fluid-
nnnncooling with speed reaching up to 1500 rpm,
nnnndepending on the size.
nnnnThe various speeds can be reached thanks to
nnnnseveral windings versions. Some of them are
nnnnillustrated in that catalogue but numerous winding
nnnnversions allowing to optimise the drive current rating
nnnncan be easily achieved.

nnnnMOTOR CONSTITUTION
nnnnARMATURE: It is consistent of
nnnnbearing the windings and fixed
nnnnhousing. The windings are encapsulated
nnnnHousing is either smooth either grinded for bearing
nnnnthe engravement of the cooling circuit when it is
nnnnrequested.
nnnn• Winding in H class.
nnnn• Output cable class 6 with 4 shielded wires for
nnnnthe power.
nnnn• Thermal protection by PTC resistor and linear
nnnnresistor KTY84 embedded in the winding.
nnnnOutput cable class 6 with 2 shielded pairs.
nnnnROTOR: Rare earth magnets protected against
nnnncorrosion are stuck around a magnetic iron ring.
