C-ALS® Mk3
Cavity Auto Scanning Laser System
The C-ALS® Mk3 can be used in a wide
range of applications
Subsidence Surveys
Abandoned mine workings and unknown underground
cavities can cause costly damage if a structure is built
above ground without the knowledge of what lies
beneath the surface.
This risk can be eliminated by deploying a C-ALS® Mk3
below the surface of a plotted area prior to construction
beginning in order to map out the underground area. The
3D data gathered from this survey can enable unsafe,
inaccessible underground cavities to be identied before
building commences to enable preventative action to be
taken to eliminate problems such as foundation
subsidence issues occurring.
Stope Surveys
The C-ALS® Mk3 system can be used to enhance safety
in areas where visibility is low and the entrances to
stopes can be unstable.
The C-ALS® enables operatives to deploy the system,
via boom and/or remote controlled vehicle, into the stope
from a safe and secure area. Once the C-ALS® has
entered the unsafe void, a 360° scan of the stope can be
obtained for further analysis.
Cavity Surveys
Similar to that of the subsidence application the C-ALS®
may also be deployed down a borehole to provide 3D
laser data of inaccessible underground cavities. This is
particularly useful in mining environments to assess the
stability of mine works and whether or not an
underground cavity needs to be lled in to ensure that
mining work is carried out as safely as possible.
