FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Advantages of the ASOPS technique over conventional sampling techniques requiring a
mechanical delay stage include faster data acquisition times, increased temporal measurement
windows, and the absence of limitations that are common to moving components (e.g. beam
pointing instability, and limited scanning speed).
APPLICATIONS
Two-color pump-probe spectroscopy
Time-domain THz spectroscopy
Material characterization
an
ultrafast pulse triggers a reaction and a
second pulse takes a snapshot of the
induced change. By shifting the arrival
time of the probe pulse with respect to
the pump pulse the stimulated process
can be followed in time.
The
asynchronous
optical
sampling
technique allows high-speed scanning
over some nanoseconds of time delay
without a mechanical delay line. The
ultrafast lasers delivering the pump and
probe pulses are locked together at a
tunable repetition rate difference.

SYSTEM DESIGN
Within the C-Fiber (100 MHz) or
M-Fiber (250 MHz) series any pair
of Menlo Systems femtosecond fiber
laser can be combined on one platform. Here we specify just two of
the possible system configurations.

The 250 MHz system enables
measurements in a 4 ns time window. Both laser heads have the optical output in the near
infrared. The sub-150-fs pulses are delivered to the sample in up to 30-m long fiber optic patch
cords. The fiber-coupled design makes this portable system ideal for integration into industrial
environments or where remote detection is required.
ASOPS DUAL COLOR 1560/780
The 100 MHz system enables measurements in a 10 ns time window. With free space output at
1560 nm and 780 nm, and due to its small footprint and alignment-free operation, the system
is well suited for two-color ultrafast spectroscopic applications. The ASOPS technique capabilities are extended over long time scales. This makes the detection of long-lived processes
possible with fs temporal resolution and unrivaled data acquisition rates.
