The PHOTONIS Ion Mobility Spectrometer Engine is a patented platform that can be customized for a variety of specific
applications where samples need to be quickly identified. Its unique design allows the user to quickly and inexpensively perform
a simple IMS analysis and receive fast, accurate results even at room temperature sampling. It can be designed to operate with
any number of ionization sources, can be scaled or customized, or can operate as a stand-alone unit.
PHOTONIS' IMS Engine is a complete integrated unit which includes reaction and drift tubes, a high-performance ion gate,
heater and integrated gas controls. The new PHOTONIS IMS Engine features a range of innovative technologies which combine
to provide significantly higher resolving power when compared to currently available commercial IMS instruments, producing
values ranging from 64-150. This IMS unit also features a new, robust ion gate technology which improves resolution and
simplifies serviceability.
Key components of the IMS Engine are made from Resistive Glass to replace conventional lens assemblies. In this patented
platform, the reaction and drift tubes are comprised of Resistive Glass, providing a one-piece construction that produces
minimal divergence and uniform counter flow of drift gas without the need for additional containment.
The new PHOTONIS IMS Engine provides a compact and reliable analysis platform with improved performance. Its high resolving
power and robust photo-etched ion gate make it ideal for use in a variety of applications where high volume, accuracy and
speed of identification is critical to applications such as those involving product safety, composition analysis and environmental
control.
PHOTONIS' ability to design custom prototypes and develop them into full-scale production is unsurpassed in the detector
and sensor industry. Schedule your technology assessment with PHOTONIS to see how our patented IMS analysis engine can
improve your sample analysis.
