DESCRIPTION:
ClearDLC™ coatings offer durable protection and high transmission
from visible to far infrared wavelengths. These coatings are
specifically designed to improve optical transmission beyond that
achieved by traditional Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coatings.
DLC coatings are used in harsh environmental conditions where
optical elements can typically be damaged due to excessive
handling, airborne particulates, or exposure to chemicals and
lubricants. The low-stress coating creates a barrier layer that
provides enhanced damage protection for exposed flat, convex,
or concave surfaces. DLC coatings are widely used across
industries and markets from consumer products to stringent military
applications.
Spectrally, ClearDLC™ coatings are tuned to achieve peak anti-
reflection performance at a specified wavelength, yet can be used
over a wide spectrum. They can be applied to a variety of substrate
materials including Germanium (Ge), Silicon (Si), Zinc Sulfide (ZnS,
Cleartran®), Zinc Selenide (ZnSe), Chalcogenide Glasses (AMTIR,
IG-X, etc.), and other materials with higher indices of refraction.
