nnnnThe dynamic focusing units of the vario5C4/V and varioSC4A/de®i
nnnnseries enable exceptionally precise, high-performance positioning
nnnnof the laser focus along the optical axis.
nnnnIn XY scan systems, the vanoSCAN can replace costly flat field ob-
nnnnjectives. Therefore, the vanoSCAN is an ideal solution in applica-
nnnntions for which standard flat field objectives are unavailable. The
nnnnvanoSCAN can also extend XY scan systems into 3D beam deflec-
nnnntion systems. The laser focus is guided along the contour of the
nnnnworkpiece being processed, thus enabling processing in three
nnnndimensions. The vanoSCANFLEX additionally allows continuously
nnnnadjusting the image field size, working distance and spot size.
nnnnThe high-end member of the vanoSCAN series of focusing units is
nnnnthe varioSC4A/de®i. It is equipped with a digital linear encoder.
nnnnThe varioSC4A/de®i offers double the maximum travel of conven-
nnnntional varioSC4A/s and much lower tracking error, resulting in a
nnnnlarger focus-shift range and better spot quality. Its accuracy, speed,
nnnnresolution and linearity, too, are clearly superior to those of all
nnnnother vanoSCAN units, while substantially eliminating the effects
nnnnof drift.
nnnnIn addition, the varioSC4A/de®i delivers all advantages of ¡DRIVE®
nnnntechnology: extensive flexibility, high dynamic performance, real-
nnnntime querying of actual position and other status parameters, etc.
