nnnnThis Power Supply can be used when
nnnnthe supply voltage is 12VDC as for
nnnninstance a battery. It converts 12
nnnnVDC to 48VDC regulated so that a
nnnnmotorcontroller which has to be
nnnnsupplied with 48VDC can be connected
nnnndirectly. For instance can the MAC
nnnnmotor MAC050 to MAC141 series
nnnnand the Quickstep MIS23x series be
nnnnconnected directly. It is possible to
nnnnconnect 12 VDC to a motor controller
nnnnbut the max. velocity will be limited to
nnnnapproximately 25% and the dynamic
nnnncapabilities of the motor is decreased
nnnnconsiderably.
nnnnPSU48/12-2 can deliver 140W
nnnncontinously and up to 400W peak
nnnnwhich matches the requirements of
nnnnMAC140, which demands 400W in
nnnnpeak. Thereby a reliable and highly
nnnndynamic motor system is secured
nnnnfrom only a 12VDC supply. If the
nnnnsupply voltage is 24VDC the converter
nnnnPSU48/24-2 can be delivered.
nnnnIt is recommended to mount a
nnnncapacitor, for instance 4700|jF/50 volt
nnnnacross the 48V if large peak currents
nnnnhave to be drawn for instance if a
nnnnMAC140 or MAC141 is used. Thereby
nnnnthe voltage is smoothed out and
nnnnovershoot that can damage the motor
nnnnis avoided.

nnnndisconnected when making any
nnnnconnections to this unit.
nnnnNote: Units are modified to handle
nnnnhigh power output for short periods
nnnnof time. Fuse input and output
nnnnappropriately. Also, units must be
nnnnsufficiently heat sunk to dissipate
nnnnheat. Failure to do so will result in
nnnndamage.
