IVP REGULATORS
nnnnMaterial Selection Guide
nnnnIVP pressure regulators are available for most media. This guide covers a
nnnnwide variety of operating environments. For other applications consult
nnnnIVP Technical sales.
nnnnStandard valves are suitable for all
nnnnnon-aggressive gaseous and liquid media,
nnnnincluding;
nnnnFLUIDS
nnnnDiesel Oil
nnnnEthyl Alcohol
nnnnFuel Oil
nnnnHydraulic Oils (except proprietary oils)
nnnnKerosene
nnnnGASES
nnnnAir
nnnnArgon
nnnnButane
nnnnHelium
nnnnHydrogen
nnnnMethane
nnnnNitric Acid
nnnnNitrogen
nnnnPropane
nnnnPetrol
nnnnSoap and Detergents
nnnnWater
nnnnMinor Variations
nnnnA change in seal type meets the requirements
nnnntypically with CO or non-aggressive media at
nnnnhigh or low temperatures (-50°C to + 150°C)
nnnnMajor Variations from standard and special
nnnnvalves
nnnnMore compatible materials can also be used
nnnnfor valve parts in contact with aggressive
nnnnmedia, eg;
nnnnTemperature Ranges (Materials)
nnnn• Stainless or Mild Steel bodies replacing
nnnnBronze or Brass for compatibility with
nnnnAmmonia and similar ammoniacal fluids,
nnnnor to prevent contamination of gaseous
nnnncoolant in Nuclear systems.
nnnn• Metal to Metal seats and metal
nnnndiaphragms replacing rubber or plastic
nnnnseats and diaphragms. Valves with this
nnnnbuild are also compatible with steam, hot
nnnngases and fluids, as well as a wide variety
nnnnof aggressive media.
nnnnIn addition, many designs have been
nnnndeveloped for special purposes. Consult IVP
nnnnTechnical Sales on the availability of new or
nnnnexisting designs.
nnnnOxygen
nnnnBefore specifying a valve for this aggressive
nnnnhazardous medium, it is advisable to consult
nnnnIVP Technical Sales for expert advice.
