Atex, hazardous dust and gas

There are many types of gas and dust, more than you

might think, that, given certain conditions (particle size,

air suspension, electrical resistivity, etc..) can trigger an ex-

plosion.

Some examples are the dust of grains, cereals, starches,

sugars, light metals, textiles, paper.

Among gas we find propane, ethylene, hydrogen, and the

gases generated by the evaporation of solvents such as al-

cohol, acetone, lubricating oils, hydrocarbons.

pheres EXplosibles" and is the name of the group of

European directives for the prevention and protec-

tion from the danger of explosion in areas with

presence of dust and / or gas.
