HIGH PERFORMANCE IN A SMALL PACKAGE
The SFF tunable transmitter is based on a standard 300 PIN MSA and features full C-and L-band
tunability. This module is designed for metro and long haul applications and is available in
configurations supporting +/-800 ps/nm or 1600 ps/nm of chromatic dispersion.
These products include the optical transmitter and receiver, laser bias and control circuitry as
well as the electrical Mux/DeMux shown in Figure 1 (see reverse side). The Mux and DeMux are
622/644/669 by 16 electrical single chip devices providing variable rate control for applications
ranging from 9.953Gb/s (SONET) to 11.1Gb/s (10GE with FEC).
The optical receiver is based on a high sensitivity APD with typical sensitivity of -26.0dBm at a bit
error rate (BER) 10-12. PIN based receiver designs are also available.
