Air Quality Engineering was organized as Smokemaster, Inc. in 1973 emphasizing design, development and sales of air filtration systems for tobacco smoke removal.

In 1974 we marked the beginning of our relationship with Honeywell when we agreed to produce commercial air cleaners for this major manufacturer, an agreement that would last 10 years. Shortly thereafter we also began offering industrial air filtration system design and production services to Honeywell.

In 1984 Honeywell’s decision to manufacture their own commercial air cleaners provided AQE with the opportunity to develop our own worldwide commercial marketing organization. Simultaneously, we purchased Honeywell’s industrial air cleaner business and became an important competitor in the air cleaner market. At this time it was clear that a new and more comprehensive name would better reflect our broader product range and we became Air Quality Engineering in 1984.

Our electronic air cleaners offer all modular solid-state components. All of our equipment is designed for low maintenance, energy efficiency and optimal collection efficiency.

Air Quality Engineering has drawn on the past 30 years of experience to manufacture complete air filtration systems that provide the most filtration performance, efficiency and capacity for the money. Our experience has led to the unique Coanda airflow pattern increasing the performance of the air cleaner as well as heat distribution of your environment, our patent pending variable voltage technology to increase filtration efficiency and variable speed controls to fit the demands of the moment.

All our air cleaners and filtration systems are made in the USA.

Our mission is to serve our customers by designing, manufacturing and marketing the most cost-effective high-quality equipment in the air cleaner industry. Air Quality Engineering uses proven technologies and
a comprehensive range of equipment to handle harmful
airborne industrial contaminants such as coolant mist,
welding smoke, and grinding dust. Our industrial air cleaners
are easily installed and available for general background air
cleaning or source capture applications.
The M73 air cleaner is a media filtration unit featuring an
ESF gradient density non-shedding polypropylene filter
for long filter life and high efficiency to effectively remove
smoke, mist, and dust particulate. It is designed for source
capture and ambient air cleaning applications within
environments such as grinding, welding, foam cutting,
rubber extruding, injection molding and dust associated with
warehousing facilities.
Air Quality Engineering has packed the M73 with standard
features to extend filter life and reduce installation and
maintenance costs:
•t5HP backward inclined blower assists in extended filter life
•tTwo extended service filters assists in reducing long term
maintenance costs
•tMotor circuitry included to reduce additional installation costs
The M73 provides a maximum recommended airflow
of 5500 CFM. It is designed with multi-stage filtration:
pleated pre-filtration, high efficiency long service life primary
filtration, and an optional bulk refillable odor
module containing up to 576 lbs. vapor filtration media.
