PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Medium Duty
Pharmaceutical Temperature Sensor
Many areas of process plant demand temperature sensors with a construction to
meet both the demands of the process and the installation environment. The sensor
sheath is produced from a seamless stainless steel tube/pipe up to ½” NB and fitted
with a spring loaded sensor insert. The choice of connection head type also allows a
specification to be drawn up that will satisfy most requirements.
S P E C I F I C A T I O N
MECHANICAL
Sheath dimensions : from 6.0mm tube up to ½” NB Sch 40 pipe in 316L
(1.4044) stainless steel.
Screwed (LDS)
process connection : optional ¼” to 1” BSPT/BSPP or NPT.
Flanged (LDF)
process connection : Tri-clover flange 1” to 3” (LDF-T).
Connection head
: in die-cast aluminium with screw cap, retention chain and
M20 cable entry. Environmental rating to IP67. Fitted with an
FDA approved connection head in GRP or to the same
design, but cast in 316 (1.4401) stainless steel. Duplex
connection heads in die cast aluminium are also available.
ELECTRICAL
Spring loaded insert
: 316L (1.4044) stainless steel, from 3mm OD (length to suit

thermowell) and fitted with a spring loaded ceramic terminal
block.
Resistance Thermometer
: single or duplex PT100 with 3 wire connection, Class ‘A’
Detector
tolerance and to BS EN 60751:2008.

: standard range -50 to +250°C (-58 to+480°F), high
temperature range available –50 to +500°C (-58 to
+930°F).
: single, duplex or triplex elements, types ‘T’ (Cu/
Con), ‘E’ (NiCr/Con), ‘J’ (Fe/Con) ‘K’ (NiCr/NiAl) or
‘N’ (Nicrosil/Nisil) to BS EN 60584-1:2013.
: standard range -50 to +250°C (-58 to+480°F), high
temperature range available –50 to +850°C (-58 to
+1560°F).
A temperature transmitter with a 4 to 20mA output can be supplied in place of the
connection block for both hazardous and non-hazardous duties. Other dimensions
and tolerances outside the above specifications
also be available on application.
