Operating Principles

nnnn

When you adjust the Range Screw to a

nnnn

specific setpoint the Range Spring exerts a

nnnn

downward force against the top of the

nnnn

Control Diaphragm. This downward force

nnnn

opens the Supply Valve. Output pressure

nnnn

flows through the Outlet Port and the

nnnn

Aspirator Tube to the Control Chamber

nnnn

where it creates an upward force on the

nnnn

bottom of the Control Diaphragm.

nnnn

When the setpoint is reached, the force of

nnnn

the Range Spring that acts on the top of the

nnnn

Control Diaphragm balances with the force

nnnn

of output pressure that acts on the bottom

nnnn

of the Control Diaphragm and closes the

nnnn

Supply Valve.

nnnn

When the output pressure increases above

nnnn

the setpoint, the Diaphragm Assembly

nnnn

moves upward to close the Supply Valve

nnnn

and open the Exhaust Valve. Because the

nnnn

Poppet Valve is closed, pressure flows

nnnn

down the Connecting Tube to the bottom of

nnnn

the Motor Diaphragm. This pressure keeps

nnnn

the Supply Valve tightly closed while in the

nnnn

exhaust mode, The Poppet Valve opens

nnnn

and output pressure exhausts through the

nnnn

Vent on the side of the unit until it reaches

nnnn

the setpoint.
