Tangent 6 is the latest release of Aeronaut’s industry-leading
cutter driver and nesting software. Tangent has always been at
the cutting edge of machine control software in the industrial,
recreational and technical textiles field and now Tangent 6 has
many new features which put it further ahead and make this an
essential upgrade.
Multi-tasking. You can now have your cutter working in the background while you open, configure and nest other jobs. With Tangent’s
sheet based cutter control window, you always know what job is cutting and can pause, cancel or change a job at any time with a click of
the mouse.
Background nesting. Set a job to autonest in the background or
queue a whole set of autonesting jobs to run while you are opening,
configuring and cutting other jobs.
Template based. With templates, you save entire cut configurations so
factors like tool assignment, speed, acceleration, overcut or undercut,
smoothing etc. are saved and can be re-used on new queues. The next
time you need to use a configuration, you just import your patterns
into a template and hit the cut button.
With Tangent 6, external programs like ParaSol link with Tangent
templates so patterns open directly in the right template with the right
nesting and cutting configurations pre-set.
DXF Imports. Handling very large DXF files in Tangent has been
greatly improved. Translation routines have been added for many more
esoteric spline types and support for text entities with large quantities
of text has been added. Most importantly, you no longer have to make
sure your files conform to DXF-AAMA layer naming conventions. All
your DXF layers can be mapped to Tangent tool paths and saved as a
template.
Multiple windows and Open GL graphics. Tangent has always had
multiple windows and now with Open GL graphics, they are even more
usable. Patterns have transparency so you can clearly see overlaps and
previously hidden patterns in a queue. Dragging patterns between windows is faster and more intuitive.
64 bit universal Cocoa application. Tangent 6 is a 64 bit application
which has all the user interface controls and features which you expect
in modern applications.
Unlimited Undos. With multiple undos, you can play around with a
nest for ages secure in the knowledge that you can undo the whole lot
if you want to. All this with no speed hit.
