The robust frequency converter for the modern aircraft
Guinault has used its experience in electrical power conversion
in military applications (since 1974) as well as its experience
in manufacturing robust field GPU (since 1949) to design a
range of static converters, especially designed for airport use
(gate, parking or hangar arrangement) and able to meet the
requirements of the most modern aircraft.

Guinault proposes two ranges of static converters:

CLEAN POWER: the 12 pulse technology ensures a low
harmonics re-injection in the main grid (< 9 %). The passive
filtration, chosen for its robustness, limits the harmonic
content on the output to 2 %.

- SC20: frequency converter. Production of 28 VDC from 50 Hz /
60 Hz, or from a 400 Hz grid (SC20-400).
- SA90: frequency converters. Production of 200 V / 400 Hz
from 50 / 60 Hz grid.
HEAVY DUTY DESIGN: The GUINAULT frequency converter
is based on a ultra resistant chassis, adapted to rough ramp
conditions. The same unit can be mounted underneath a
passenger boarding bridge, on the ground or on a trailer. The
air intake of the internal ventilation is placed 40 cm off the
ground to avoid dust ingress. The air exhaust is placed on the
top of the converter to respect the natural convection and avoid
interference with the air inlet.
EASY MAINTENANCE: Wide enveloping doors ensure a great
accessibility to all components, regardless of the configuration
(bridge, trailer or ground). The modular design enables fast

USER FRIENDLY INTERFACE: The frequency converter is
equipped with a Guinault color screen digital controller, which
ensures easy operations, fast check of the unit information
and a record of the events for simple trouble-shooting.

COMPLYING WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS OF THE MOST
MODERN AIRCRAFT: the Guinault static converter ensures a
90 kVA, power factor of 1 in permanent operation, whereas
most converters on the market are designed considering
a power factor of 0,8 (GUINAULT converter is up to 20%
more powerful). The new generation of aircraft requires an
availability of 90 kW continuously.
COMPLIANT WITH BOEING B787 REQUIREMENTS (high
transformer magnetization input current).
LOW NOISE: Air inlet and outlet are optimized for low sound
level emission.
