LED Display Chips (new Generation)
Our new generation of LED display chips enable you to present numbers, letters and/or different
symbols so that in optical instruments, various information can be displayed in a very small area.
The red color (650 nm) of the AlGaInP based chip is visible at low currents less than 400 nA. The
character size of a 7-segment chip (see figure below) can be as small as 0.5 mm. For customer
specific chips, a wide range of layout options and sizes are available.
Compared to the GaAsP type display chip, this new generation of AlGalnP chip provides 100x
efficiency enhancement, providing higher brightness and better distinguishing characters using
much lower power consumption, resulting in extended battery life in portable optical instruments.
Key Characteristics:
Emission color red (650 nm)
Optimal character height for a 7 segment digit 0,5 – 1,5 mm
Visible emission starting at currents below 400 nA
+ 100 times more light intensity compared with GaAsP based display chips
High brilliance and contour sharpness
Extremely long battery life time for portable applications
