Spring Loaded Guide Roller Pair

The Spring Loaded Guide Roller Pair, SLGRp, is a
passive tracking device, which can be added into
an existing conveyor.
With this passive tracking device it is possible to handle situations
when the running condition is variable. E.g. the product is loaded
onto the belt differently from time to time, temperature changes
or uneven flow, etc.
The Spring Loaded Guide Roller Pair provides a robust and safe
way to keep a belt running within acceptable side movements.
Scope of supply
The tracking device is comprised of a pair of edge roller assemblies
mounted on a movable beam and one static beam carrying the
edge rollers and movable beam.

Placing
The Loaded Guide Roller Pair spring loaded guide rolls can be
used at both the upper and lower belt sections.
Distance between two SLGRp should be 15 to 20 meters. The
distance from end drums to the first SLGRp is recommended to
be 10 times the belt width.
Loaded Guide Roller Pair is to be mounted so that the belt edge is
positioned 35 mm from the lower part of the roller. The distance
between belt edge and roller is adjustable. The nominal clearance
is 15 mm.

Total weight depends on the belt width and ranges from 12 to 24 kg.

The force of the gas springs is 150 N.
Function description
To prevent the belt from too much transversal movement, which
can cause edge damage, guides can be applied along the upper and
lower belt strand.
When the belt is moving sideways and comes in contact with the
roller assemblies, the gas spring let the assembly travel outwards.
The gas spring applies force to stop the belt movement and eventually the belt side movement will be stopped.
Due to the risk for belt edge damage, fixed belt guides should be
avoided. A steel belt should never be forced in position, therefore
a Spring Loaded Guide Roller Pair is recommended.
