resolution LCDs require wider color depth
and higher data traffic. Total power
consumption for such a display system
could be significant.
Toshiba display controllers and buffer ICs
are built around industry standards such
as MDDI or MIPI. These devices offer the

products:
• MDDI LCD controller
• MIPI LCD controller
Toshiba MDDI LCD Controller
Designated the TC358720XBG, this product
is optimized for mobile phones using MDDI
high-speed serial digital packet host interface
and high-resolution LCD panel(s) (applicable
to systems using Qualcomm’s MSM™
baseband processor family). The serial data
interface supports throughputs of up to 400
Mbps by using two, low-voltage differential
signal pairs. Due to the combination of LVDS
technology and on-chip eDRAM memory
buffer, the TC358720XBG supports a VGAwww.
