Car seat safety tests
Sit safely - lean back and relax
Your benefits
• Flexible testing: Preseries, 1 00% final control,
spot checks, long-term testing
• Significant time savings and fast amortization
• Evaluation and analysis of measurement results
• Comparability of measurement results
• Flexibility and easy reconfiguration for different
vehicle seats
Competence
To test safety features, a three-dimensional test dummy
compliant with SAE J826 (July 1 995 edition) of the Society of
Automobile Engineers (SAE) has been used in the past.
For the test and production-concurrent backset measurements,
Battenberg has developed an automated test procedure based
on measuring robotics that can replace manual testing with
the SAE test dummy.
The test system consists of a robot with a 6-axis force and
torque sensor mounted on the robot's hand and a special
robot dummy. The setup procedure uses real-time controlled
motion, with force and torque regulation. For backset
measurement, a distance sensor is used and the torso angle is
measured with a position sensor.
Seat testing solutions are available for R&D, preseries, trials
and end-of-line tests in production.
