Dedicated to start Aircraft engine in case of failed
Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) , Air Start Unit (ASU)
is emergency equipment. As all emergency
equipments, reliability is the most important
characteristics of ASU. Effectively, during ASU
operation, passengers and crew are on-board
and are waiting for take-off.
To obtain highest reliability, Guinault uses the
most reliable components as :
- “DEUTZ” ENGINE (MTU Detroit Diesel for GS400)
- “GHH Rand” oil free screw compressor.
Guinault Air Start units use electronically
controlled air-flow /pressure / engine rpm
technology to keep the main components
(diesel engine and screw compressor) in the
smoothest operating conditions, whatever the
type of aircraft is started (narrow body or wide
body). Engine and compressor rpm are reduced
in real time to the minimum possible, ensuring
reliability, increasing lifetime, and reducing
significantly noise and fuel consumption
Guinault uses its expertise in electronic control
to give a significant product advantage and
also limit the obsolescence risk as Guinault
manufactures its own electric/electronics
components.
