There, they are used to filter water, paints, inks, lacquers, adhesives, solvents, chemicals, industrial wastewater and similar liquids. Brief description and operation Series 122 bag filters from SAB are available as top and side inlet filters (see Fig. 1 ݖ 4) and in steel-coated or stainless steel versions. The filter consists of a filter housing, support basket, holding down device and cover, fitted with a filter bag. The medium enters the filter housing from the side (side inlet) or through the cover (top inlet) and flows from the inside out through a filter bag which has been reinforced with a support basket. The support basket, along with the recess and holding down device, ensures that the filter bag sits perfectly in the housing (bypass-free filtration). The removed contaminants remain in the bag and can be disposed of with the bag. Installation The filters are installed in pipelines by means of threaded sleeves or flanges (see Fig. 1 4). Note that the standard version filter must be installed vertically with the cover at the top and must be free of mechanical stresses and additional loads. The medium being filtered must enter the filter housing through the upper flange. If installed incorrectly, the filter may malfunction and the filter element may get damaged. Safety precautions for commissioning/operation 1. Open vent in cover until liquid escapes 2. Close vent 3. Filter is ready to operate since this is a pressurised container, it is essential that the filter be depressurised before beginning any maintenance work. Observe the safety and accident prevention regulations applicable for the specific fluid concerned. Warning, Cleaning Before changing the filter bag it is recommended that the filter housing is drained. After opening the vent and releasing the filter closure, lift off the cover, remove the holding down device and take out the filter bag for disposal. Before inserting a new filter bag, clean the installed components and the inside of the housing with suitable agents, if required. When reassembling the filter ensure that the seals are not damaged; renew them if necessary. >
