Lumiglas-Timer – electronic time delay switch for Lumiglas luminaire Datasheet 09.01
The integrally fitted Lumiglas Timer enables the unit to be switched
on directly or indirectly. After a preprogrammed interval
(appx. 5 minutes) the luminaire is automatically switched off.
• Application:
for better utilisation of theoperating life of the halogen
filament lamp, and particularly useful where visual inspection
procedures is only passing and brief illumination of vessel
internals is required. Also saves power and keeps temperature
down.
The Lumiglas timer is so compact that it will fit into almost all
more sized Lumiglas luminaires:
• Lumiglas luminaires for Non-Ex areas:
- Lumiglas luminaires series Lumistar, size 175 to 225
- Lumiglas luminaire series USL06
• Lumiglas luminaires for Ex hazardous areas:
- Lumiglas luminaires series USL06
- Lumiglas luminaire series “Lumiflex“
• Protection: Corresponds to luminaire specification.
• Fitting and function:
The lumiglas timer is either fitted or can be retrospectively fitted
at manufacturer`s works into the relevant Lumiglas luminaire.
• Two alternative operating functions can be used:
1. Remote control:
As soon as power is switched on to the luminaire, the lamp
comes ON and the timer begins ist count down. Once it has
reached OFF, the luminaire can be switched ON again by
interrupting the power supply briefly (1 to 2 seconds) e. g.
with a remote push button (opener) switch.
2. Local (direct) control:
The timer is activated by a flat V-spring lever fitted to the
exterior of the luminaire body or (depending on luminaire
model) by a push button.
- With spring or button in rest position
Lumiglas luminaire remains switched off
- Pressing the spring lever or button
Switches luminaire ON and internal timer begins
count down. After appx. 5 minutes timer switches luminaire
OFF.
- Switching ON again, renewed pressure on spring/button
reactivates timer which begins countdown for a further full
interval.
