nnnnines of ultrasonic sensors offers a

nnnntions. There is the mounting con-
nnnnvenience of a 30 mm housing,
nnnnsensing ranges of 1 m (39"), 2 m
nnnn1(79"), and a long-range 8 m (26'),
nnnnIthe shortest deadbands in the
nnnn'sensing industry, and unique fac-
nnnntory configurability to meet the
nnnn■user's needs. In addition to sens-
nnnnling ranges, model selections in-
nnnnclude normally-open or normally-
nnnnclosed NPN and PNP outputs,
nnnn■complementary NPN or comple-
nnnnImentary PNP outputs, and a vari-
nnnnlety of response times and default
nnnnsensing window setup limits. By
nnnnusing the Model Reference Guide
nnnnIto select the specific model re-
nnnnIquired, the user is assured of a
nnnn'reliable, cost-effective proximity
nnnnsensing solution for a multitude of
nnnn■applications.
nnnnAll models in this series are
nnnnlequipped with a push-button to set
nnnnthe limits for the sensing "window."
nnnnWhen it is impractical to use the
nnnnpush-button for setting long-range
nnnnsensing limits, an optional, hand-
nnnnheld, setup/display accessory is
nnnnavailable. All limits are stored in
nnnnnonvolatile memory and thus are
nnnnretained if power is removed from
nnnnthe sensor.
nnnnThe sensors are available in ei-
nnnnther ULTEM® plastic or SS303
nnnnstainless steel housings. Both
nnnnhousings are sealed to withstand
nnnndusty, dirty, clean-in-place, non-
nnnncondensing humidity, and high-
nnnnpressure washdown environ-
nnnnments. Unlike other sensing tech-
nnnnnologies, these sensors are ca-
nnnnpable of detecting all materials re-
nnnngardless of color, shape, and com-
nnnnposition (transparent or opaque,
nnnnliquid or solid) including clear
nnnnglass, powder, food products,
nnnnmetal, plastics, and objects that
nnnnchange colors. They are virtually
nnnnunaffected by changing light con-
nnnnditions, colors, and noise. Pack-
nnnnaged in a 30 mm, threaded hous-
nnnning with jam nuts, the Model
nnnnSM900 sensors are easily
nnnnmounted in normally tough-to-in-
nnnnstall areas of the plant. With pro-
nnnntection ratings of NEMA 4X (in-
nnnndoor use only) and IP67, the sen-
nnnnsors resist most acids, bases,and
nnnnoils, including most food prod-
nnnnucts. All the sensors in this
nnnnmodel series are CE certified. Ad-
nnnnditionally, the Model SM900 se-
nnnnries sensors offer compatible in-
nnnntegration with most program-
nnnnmable logic controllers.
