Description
nnnnAir causes problems if it is present in pressurised hydraulic systems.
nnnnNormally, the maintenance ground crew purges the alrfrom the hydraulic
nnnnsystem using bleed ports conveniently located on the circuit-on the
nnnnpressurized reservoir or another high point, for example.
nnnnThe Pall ARB valve automatically bleeds the entrapped air or other gases
nnnnfrom the hydraulic fluid reservoir as the system cycles through Its pressure
nnnnenvelope.

nnnnHow Does it Work?
nnnnThere are 3 Stages of Operation:
nnnnSTAGE 1
nnnnSystem at Rest
nnnn► The Inlet pert Is closed.
nnnn► A centralized piston is held in the 'full down" position by a spring.
nnnn► This closes the valve and prevents any flow of air or oil.
nnnnSTAGE 2
nnnnAir Bleed Phase
nnnn► As the reservoir Is pressurized, trapped air or gas enters the valve through the Inlet port.
nnnn► The air (gas)flows between the body and the piston to the outlet port.
nnnn► The air Is then vented overboard into the atmosphere.
nnnnSTAGE 3
nnnnAir Bleed Completed, System Pressurized
nnnn► When all the air (gas) is expelled, hydraulic fluid enters the valve.
