Boost plant availability and revenues
The GT11N2 has proven its reliability with high availability figures across the fleet
since its first firing in 1994. Its main area of installation is the 60 Hz market, but it is
also available for 50 Hz applications.
The new GT11N2 M upgrade was developed to meet the future demands of the power
markets. This upgrade has been successfully validated and is now operating in multiple
units worldwide. It offers the possibility to operate the engine in three different
operating modes, depending on your specific market requirements. All three modes can
be selected on demand and online. This flexibility allows electricity costs to be
continuously optimised in your plant.

At peak demand, the new GT11N2 M upgrade package provides maximised power
output and efficiency with its Maximum Continuous Load (MCL) mode. For reduced
power demand, the GT11N2 M operation concept offers the Performance (P) mode or
Lifetime (L) mode to increase the intervals between the hot gas path type C
inspections from 24,000 equivalent operating hours (EOH) up to 48,000 EOH.
Compared to the originally installed configuration the power output and efficiency is
significantly increased in all three operation modes.
The new GT11N2 M upgrade can be fully retrofitted
to the GT11N2* and can be implemented during a
regular C inspection. It is also possible to carry out a
phased upgrade including the first and second turbine
stages, in order to reduce initial investment and utilise
the remaining lifetime of the rear turbine stages.

The basis for the increase in performance is the completely redesigned turbine blading
in line with Alstom’s proven turbine upgrade technology. State-of-the-art turbine
aerodynamics and cooling coupled with the use of proven base materials and coating
systems ensure the highest possible benefits with maximum reliability.
*Upgrade available for the GT11N2 with 3VGV compressor and EV combustor, gas as main fuel, oil as backup
